Your Deployer recipe, without maintaining it.
Deployer and Capistrano get the model right: releases, a
current symlink, shared files, rollback. symflip keeps that model
and takes away the script only one person on the team can safely change.
Same model, less upkeep
Most teams start with a few SSH commands in a bash script. It grows into a recipe. Then someone has to own it.
symflip does the same things over SSH, with nothing installed on your servers, and adds:
- A UI anyone on the team can use, with roles instead of shared SSH keys.
- Live logs in the browser instead of in one person's terminal.
- Fleet deploys that build first. Every server builds before any goes live, and a build failure on any server switches none of them.
- Optional automatic rollback when a health check fails after go-live.
- Secrets sealed at rest and written to every server, instead of a
.envcopied by hand. - Push-to-deploy, schedules, approvals and an audit log, depending on plan.

When to keep Deployer
Keep it if you need full control over every step, need custom shared directories, or nobody else on the team ever deploys. It's a good tool. symflip is for when the script has become a bus factor.
Setup notes by framework: zero-downtime Laravel deployment and zero-downtime Symfony deployment (including what symflip shares between releases today).
Laravel, Laravel Forge and Laravel Envoyer are trademarks of their owner. Deployer is an independent open-source project. symflip is not affiliated with or endorsed by either. Competitor details are as published on the cited pages on and may have changed since.
Retire the deploy script.
Free for one project on one server, no card. Fleet deploys start on Team (€29/mo).
